And so, after all the controversies, the news coverage, the tweets, the incessant "Kanye is a racist" campaign, and everything else Kanye West has had to endure since he created a media firestorm when he interrupted Taylor Swift at the VMAs in 2009, his latest album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy will be released today. This is a bit of a milestone for West, and while he probably considers getting out of bed every day a milestone, all of the incredibly high praises the album has been getting from Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, etc. indicate that it may just be West's biggest contribution to hip-hop (and music in general) to date. West's Good Friday offerings (he gave away a free song every Friday before the release of Fantasy, and some of the songs show up again on the album) were the perfect way to hype the album, and it seems that West is poised to take the world by storm once again, this time for all the right reasons.
